A
non profit club with over 500 antique
tractor parade, display & event photos
The Lake Country Antique
Tractor Association officially began in January 2000,
when
six families met to discuss the formation of a club. At that time there were
about eight or nine antique tractors among the group. The first order of
business was to develop a mission, rules and by-laws. The mission is to preserve
and promote the preservation of farm machinery of the past for future generations. Membership
now consists of over 90 families, and the club pays insurance on 130 individual
members who will or may drive in parades and participate in shows. At a recent
business meeting, members reported a total of over 200 antique tractors that
were restored or in the process.

The Lake Country Antique Tractor Association has a
business meeting the first Monday evening of February, April, June, August,
October and December. These meetings are generally held at The Ranchero Buffet
in Mineola, Texas at 6pm for dinner and 7pm for the business meeting.
A play day is held during the even numbered months to
give members an opportunity to plow and work the tractors or have a tractor pull
to see how well the tractors can be tuned to their most powerful--if twelve
horsepower or a bit more is powerful.

Tractors that are built before 1972 are considered to be
an antique tractor by our club. Tractors 30 years old or older are considered an antique
by EDGETA, of which we are
local branch 145. At this time the oldest running tractors in LCATA
are a 1924 McCormick- Deering, a 1925 Fordson & a 1930 McCormick-Deering. Antique tractors of all
kinds are owned by our members including John Deere, Farmall, International,
Massey Harris, Massey Ferguson, Ford, Allis Chalmers, McCormick-Deering, Moline
and Oliver. We also fund
a college scholarship program each year for deserving area youth.
