President Ron Davis called the meeting to order at 7 PM with twenty one members in attendance. Don Hatton opened the meeting with prayer. The secretary’s minutes from the June meeting were approved as written. Brenda Wisdom passed out copies of the club’s financial report.   A bank balance of $4,787.48 was indicated. Money from the Emory Pull in May had been received. The treasurer’s report was approved as presented.

Clarence Lee asked us to remember his wife, Alice, in our prayers. Mr. Lee also reported that Jim Dozier was doing better. Don Sullivan reported that his wife, Wanda, was doing better at this time.

Ron reported that he had talked with representatives from Emory and the pull track is going to be built in the next few days. It will be built in the area where we have been pulling. They were asking for Ron’s input in the track construction.

Ron read notes from Carter Lennon and Cody Vance thanking the club for their college scholarships.

The state sales tax form was discussed. Lake Country had to pay $52 this year because a form which was submitted to the state was sent in late. Since the club is designated as a 501(c) 3, we will be able to make purchases without paying state sales tax but the form will still have to be submitted to the state.

A lengthy discussion of changes in EDGETA rules was discussed. If an event is listed on a club’s calendar, it is sanctioned and members are covered by EDGETA. Some members are concerned that the rules seem to limit events in which a tractor club can participate.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:03.

Respectfully submitted,

Sally Smith
