LAKE COUNTRY ANTIQUE TRACTOR ASSOCIATION

EDGETA BRANCH 145

DECEMBER 5, 2016 MINUTES

President Ron Davis called the meeting to order at 6:58 with thirty two in attendance. Bruce Burnham opened the meeting with prayer. Our one guest was Joe Bob Busby’s nephew. Health concerns were expressed for Alice Lee, Wanda Sullivan, and Brenda Wisdom. We were glad to have Lynn Gray with us tonight. The secretary’s minutes from October were approved as written. The financial report, which was sent in by Brenda Wisdom, indicated a bank balance of $5,004.20. The report was approved as written.

The Nomination Committee was called on to present their recommendations for the coming year. They reported that they are suggesting that the club keep the same officers. This suggestion was accepted with unanimous approval by the members. The officers for 2017 are as follows:

President – Ron Davis

Vice President – Bruce Burnham

Treasurer – Brenda Wisdom

Secretary – Sally Smith

Bruce Burnham will continue as Webmaster

Jana Prochaska will continue posting for the club on Facebook

The dates of several Christmas parades were discussed. Terrell, Alba, and Winnsboro will all hold their parade this Saturday.

Don Hatton told us that four Cowboy Churches are trying to get together in order to sponsor tractor pulls. Cedar Creek Tractor Club is trying to set up a museum of tractor and farming equipment in Mabank.

Sandy Hallman mentioned that several of our members recently attended a pull in Tunica, MS. She told us that the pull is a fund raiser for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

President Davis read a letter from Wade Bartley thanking the club for its help in this year’s Help A Child fundraiser. Wade indicated that $30,000 was raised to be spread among three organizations.

This was the month for the club to pay for members’ meals. As is our custom, an offering was taken up for a local charity. Several local charities were discussed. Sandy Hallman made the motion to donate the money to the Angel Tree in Emory. Barbara Thompson made the second and the motion passed. Bruce Burnham reported that $227 was collected tonight. Danny Prochaska made the motion that we raise that amount to $250. Don Hatton made the second and the motion passed.

The Canton Swap Meet for the coming year was discussed. We decided that we would be willing to help put on the event if other clubs would also be involved.

Ron Davis told us he would like to see us plan a picnic or some type of fun activity for the club in the spring. He asked us to be thinking of what we would like to do.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:45.

Respectfully submitted,

Sally Smith
