February 6, 2017 Minutes
President Davis called the meeting to order at 7PM with nineteen in attendance. The opening prayer was given by Ron. Our guests were the Cedar Creek Tractor Club president, David Conner, his wife, and Joe Bob Busby’s nephew. Health concerns were mentioned for Don Sullivan who is recovering from knee replacement and Jim Dozier who seems to be doing better. Morris Krodel told us that Edsel Green’s wife had passed away.
Minutes from the December meeting were approved as written. The treasurer’s report indicated a bank balance of $4,566.04. A thank you letter was read from the Emory Angel Tree for our $250 Christmas donation. Brenda Wisdom reported that all of the scholarship recipients from 2016 had received their money. The financial report was accepted as presented.
Membership money will be accepted now and must be paid by April. Dues are $40.
Scholarships for 2017 were discussed. Morris Krodel made the motion to give four scholarships for $500 each. Don Hatton made the second and the motion passed.
Morris Krodel mentioned that we might like to have a fun pull and cookout at Steve Williams’ place in the near future. Lynn Secules said that we might do the same at the pull site in Emory. Ron suggested that we think about these ideas and decide on something at the next meeting.
David Conner gave a report on the farming display museum at Mabank. He is trying to get the history of farming from the area and preserve it in the museum.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:45.
