APRIL 3, 2017 MINUTES

President Ron Davis called the meeting to order at 7 PM with thirty in attendance. Don Hatton opened the meeting with prayer. We had several visitors: the Thompson’s son, Mark, Bob Gray’s friend, Ken Parker, Joe Bob’s nephew, and Clarence Lee’s neighbor, Blake Kral. It was good to have Wanda Sullivan, Don’s wife, with us. We were saddened to learn that Bob Gray’s wife, Lynn, had passed away. Her memorial service will be held this Saturday. Clarence Lee’s wife, Alice, is in a nursing home but is doing better.

Charles Thompson and Ron Davis reminisced about the early beginnings of our club. Ron reported on his trip to New York to pick up the very old grain drills that his grandson had purchased.

The secretary’s minutes from February were approved as written. The financial report indicated a bank balance of $3,038.40. The treasurer’s report was approved as presented.

Ron has been in contact with the Sweet Potato Committee in Golden about building a bridge or some type of crossing over the ditch beside the tractor pulling area. They said the area is actually in County Precinct #1. We may be able to get them to put a culvert or a walkway in, or something might just “appear” to take care of the problem.

Dillon Burnham, Bruce’s son, reported that he had built a trailer to haul tractors as his FFA project. It had done very well at several shows, including San Antonio and Houston. His sister, Sydney, built a shop table as her project and it had also done very well. We are extremely proud of these fine young people who are a part of our club.

Memberships should be paid by now. Brenda Wisdom told everyone who had paid that she had their new stickers to go on their membership cards and buttons.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:40.

Respectfully submitted,

Sally Smith
