AKE COUNTRY ANTIQUE TRACTOR ASSOCIATION

 EDGETA BRANCH 145

 February 5, 2015 Minutes

President Don Hatton called the meeting to order at 6:50 with twenty four in attendance. We learned that Alice Lee has been sick with the flu and Clarence has been staying with her almost constantly.

Morris Krodle said that his wife is better. Don had talked to Sheri Walters and surgery is being mentioned for her condition. Our prayers are with all of our sick members. Leon Gunn opened the meeting with prayer.

The minutes from December were approved as written. Copies of the financial report were passed out. The report was approved as presented.

The Scholarship committee for this year will be Ron and Rosa Davis, Charles and Barbara Thompson, Don and Patsy Hatton, and Sally Smith. Barbara Thompson made the motion to give a total of four scholarships at $500 each.

This motion passed.

Steve Williams has been working on the sled. He rebuilt the gearbox, repaired the guards which hold the weight box, and repaired the monitor.

Everything seems to be in working order. Steve has not been able to register the trailer because it has to be done in Wood County and since he does not live there he does not have a physical address.

The same problem will occur for the sled. Charles Thompson said that he would get the sled and trailer registered. Steve was given a big thanks for all of his work.

Everyone was encouraged to let Bruce Burnham know of any events that were “tractor friendly” so he could get them on our website.

 Several upcoming events were discussed:

*The Canton Show and Swap Meet will be April 6 & 7.

*A playday at Steve Williams’ place will be on April 7.

*Greenville/Hunt County fair wants us to put on a pull on April 21. They will pay us $600.

*The club’s pulls in Emory will take place on May 5 and October 13. The Kubota dealership in Wills Point has agreed to furnish tractors for both pulls. Dealerships will be contacted to furnish tractors for Sulphur Springs and Golden pulls.

*The city of Quitman has approached Don about putting on a tractor pull in conjunction with a bar-b-que on May 11. They want the pull on Friday evening.

A group from our club will go to Quitman and look at the area where they plan to have the pull to see if it will be satisfactory.

*Our next club meeting will be on April 2.

It was discussed that we might be able to get FFA or AG classed involved in helping with our pulls. Ron Davis said that he had tried to do this in the past but had not been successful.

Don mentioned that we need to have a logo and have shirts made to advertise our club. He also said that the communities which are involved in our pulls need to get out flyers which advertise the events.

Club dues are $40 and should be paid now. $12 of this goes to EDGETA for insurance. The dues need to be paid ASAP. Money should be given to Brenda Wisdom, club treasurer.

Morris Krodle said that he thought the club should have a Facebook page. Don said that perhaps Bruce Burnham could do that for us.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:50

 \Respectfully submitted,

Sally Smith
