LAKE COUNTRY ANTIQUE TRACTOR ASSOCIATION

EDGETA BRANCH 145

APRIL 2, 2018 MINUTES

President Don Hatton called the meeting to order at 7PM with twenty six in attendance. The Trussel’s had two visitors with them and we were glad to have Clarence Lee back with us. Sheri Walters called Rudy Smith today and said she was doing some better. The next step for her will be surgery or radiation. Rudy also talked with Mr. Gerald and he was doing fairly well. Mr. Lee reported that Alice was still in the nursing home but was doing well. Joe Bob Busby had surgery on his arm and was nicely recovering.

The minutes from the February meeting were approved as written. Mr. Lee reminded us about the Pet Fair at the vet’s office in Quitman on April 28. The treasurer passed out copies of the financial report. We have $1,943.95 available in club funds. The treasurer’s report was approved as presented.

Don Hatton reported that Steve Williams and his brother are painting the sled. It should be ready for Saturday’s play day at Steve’s place.

This Canton Tractor Show and Swap Meet will take place this Friday and Saturday. Don will call and reserve about 15 slots for our club to use for tractor display. He will also reserve two vendor slots for the club to use.

The pull/show at LFTB Cowboy Church in Athens will take place on Saturday, April 14. There is no pull fee.

April 21 is the date for the Hunt County Fair. LCATA will furnish the sled, ribbons, scales, and workers for the pull. The Hunt County Fair will furnish the pullback tractor and upkeep tractor for the track. We will have to be finished before 5PM in order for the garden tractors to get set up for their pull at 6PM.

April 20 and 21 – the Henderson pull and show will take place.

LCATA will sponsor a pull in Emory on May 5. Kubota in Wills Point will furnish the pullback and track upkeep tractors for this pull and, also the pull in October.

LCATA will sponsor a pull at the Quitman Dogwood Festival.   It will take place near the high school on highway 2008. Pull starts at 10AM. At present, we do not have a pullback tractor for this event. Kubota in Alba will be contacted.

Don received a letter for EDGETA about insurance problems. Participant liability is not covered by their insurance. Spectators are insured but not participants. The national EDGETA meeting will be held in Emporia, KS.

We still need a club logo for caps and T-shirts. Steve pointed out that there is a picture of a tractor on the club trailer that could be used.

It was pointed out that the tip was not put on our tickets for tonight’s meal or last month’s. We were encouraged to leave tips.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:35.

Respectfully submitted,

Sally Smith
