Health concerns of the group are: Sally Smith had knee replacement surgery this morning and Ron Davis announced that he is cancer free. Doyle Gandy gave the opening prayer. Minutes from the February meeting were approved as written. The treasurer’s report from February was approved. Members were told that club dues had to be taken care of tonight. Any member that had not taken care of this was told to see Brenda Wisdom before they left the meeting tonight.
The Canton Show and Swap meet is coming up this week-end. Don has reserved seven slots for our club. Five for show and two for vendor. The LFTB Show and Pull will be held at the Church on April 20. Members were encouraged to come out and help make this pull a success.
The next pull on our schedule is the Terrell Show and Pull at the Ben Gill Park on June 8. There will be a show, pull, BBQ meal, and door prizes. We always have a great time at this event.
Scholarship Applications were due to the club on April 1st. At present, we have received five applications.
Don mentioned that Brenda Wisdom, the club treasurer, has been buying postage and envelopes for the club with her own money. Doyle Gandy made the motion to give Brenda $100 to purchase stamps, envelopes, and whatever she needs. The second was made by Ron Davis. The motion carried.

FEBRUARY 5, 2024 MINUTES
The meeting was called to order by Don Hatton at 7 PM with twenty in attendance. It was reported that Gordon McCosh and Steve Williams were doing well. Patsy Hatton is still having health issues. Randy Jones reported that he and his wife have a new granddaughter. The opening prayer was given by Doyle Gandy. Copies of the minutes from our last meeting were distributed and approved as written. The financial report was also passed out. It was pointed out that one of our scholarship recipients from 2023 never claimed her money so it has been placed back in general funds. Don read a thank-you letter from the East Texas Food Bank thanking us for our Christmas donation.
The first pull of the year was held this past week-end at Glenn Rose. There were 240 hooks that day. It was reported that it was a very good pull.
There have been some changes to our 2024 schedule:
The Red River pull which was scheduled for September 21 will use their own sled so we lost that pull.
The Cowboy Church in Mabank has asked us to do a pull for them on July 20. This will be their first pull.
The Point pull has not been finalized. They are still looking for a place to build a track.
The Help a Child benefit has not yet been confirmed, but it looks promising.
The Canton Show and Swap meet is scheduled for April 5-6. We can reserve as many slots as we need for free.
Dues are now being accepted for 2024. EDGETA insurance went up $3 so we need to decide on the dues for our club. Doyle Gandy made the motion to have $20 for our club dues and to add $20 per tractor driver to that amount. Joe Bob Busby made the second and the motion carried. This means that a family with one driver will pay $40, 2 drivers will be $60, 3 drivers will be $80 etc.
It was stressed that we need to let high school seniors know about our scholarships. It was decided that we give five scholarships this year. Steve Williams made the motion to set the dollar amount at $500. Doyle Gandy made the second and the motion carried. Scholarship applications must be received by April 1, 2024
The meeting was adjourned at 7:35.
Respectfully submitted,
Sally Smith
