Parade participants will line up at 5:00 pm along East Bow Street to Spring Street and the procession will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. Operators from the Tyler Amateur Radio Club and Jaycee members will assist with parade line up. We encourage participants to light their floats and dress in festive attire. To ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all participants and spectators, please adhere to the following guidelines: 1. DO NOT THROW CANDY FROM ANY FLOAT OR VEHICLE. If your group wishes to distribute candy, you MUST have people walk a minimum of 4 feet from your vehicle (on both sides of the street) and hand it out from there. 2. Street closure on the main parade route will begin at 5:30 pm and will last until approximately 7:15 pm. Along Bow Street and Spring Street, closures will begin at 5:00 pm. ONLY vehicles or floats in the parade will be allowed on these streets after 5:00 p.m. Plan ahead to use an alternate route to the line up area in case of heavy traffic or other delays. 3. Carpooling is HIGHLY recommended. If someone is dropping off members of your group, please use North Broadway. Participants may be dropped off in the Municipal Court parking lot. Please do not use the Salvation Army Thrift Shop parking lot. This area is used for staging purposes. 4. We suggest that little ones under the age of 5 ride on a float, in a wagon, or in a car. It may be difficult for smaller children to keep up with the pace of the parade. 5. We encourage you to identify your parade unit, but please refrain from using commercial or political advertising. 6. Santa will be appearing at the end of the parade, so please DO NOT have Santa appear in your group. Having more than one Santa in the parade may confuse the children who will be watching. We hope you will stay and enjoy the Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the square immediately following the parade. Check www.tylerjaycees.org for changes due to weather. If there is severe weather, the parade will be rescheduled for Tuesday, December 9th. If you have any questions, please contact Joey Morris by phone at 903-372-2738, or e-mail at tylerjaycees@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing you at the parade. Sincerely, Brandi Morris Christmas Parade Chairperson Tyler Jaycees -- Tyler Jaycees PO Box 325 Tyler, TX 75710 903-597-4787 www.tylerjaycees.org
